International recognition for Cyprus and the CESS at the 10th Copenhagen Group Conference

11-May-2026 The 10th Copenhagen Group Conference concluded in Cyprus with resounding success and overwhelmingly positive feedback from all participants; a high-level event on sports integrity and the fight against match-fixing, hosted for the first time in our country.
The conference took place on May 5 and 6 in Nicosia, bringing together representatives from 37 countries worldwide, 19 of whom attended in person and the rest online, underscoring the event’s significant international scope and importance.
Particular significance was attached to the participation and presence of representatives and speakers from leading international organizations and bodies, such as UEFA, Sportsradar, and The Guardian, who actively participated in the discussions and proceedings of the conference.
Over the course of the two-day event, a substantive dialogue unfolded regarding contemporary challenges related to sports integrity, match-fixing, technological advancements, and new tools for preventing and investigating suspicious activities, while particular emphasis was also placed on the importance of international cooperation and education.
Many participants made special mention of the impeccable organization of the conference by the CESS, which received praise for the high level of hospitality, professionalism, and excellent organization of the conference proceedings.
The successful hosting of the event confirmed Cyprus’s ability to host major international events and further strengthened the country’s standing in the field of clean sports.
Hosting and successfully concluding the 10th Copenhagen Group Conference is a significant recognition of the efforts made by the CESS to develop strong international partnerships and actively participate in international developments concerning sports integrity.
The conference left a very positive impression on participants and highlighted Cyprus as a reliable and active partner in the international fight against corruption in sport.
